I've been fortunate to have experienced living overseas in three countries America, Europe and Asia and have traveled to some incredible places and today's blog is about my personal favorite and what i classify (from where i've been) as the best beaches in the world! I know big call right but these beaches are so stunning the water is crystal clear and they are truly magical places to visit.
So the winner of the best beaches in the world is... Sardinia- Italy!
Sardinia is a large island in the beautiful mediterranean sea it has 3,000 km of coastline with stunning sandy beaches. The most magical part of sardinia can be found by visiting the gulf di orosei on sardinia central east coast. In order to reach the beautiful beaches of this area you must go on a yacht or speed boat, there are varying sizes and options to suit all needs and budgets.
My husband and I took a yacht with 12 other people. we set sail starting the day off with some strong italian coffee and shortly after departing anchored in the middle of the ocean where we jumped off the boat into the crystal clear waters, explored grottos (caves), stopped at several beaches only accessible by boat, it was a truly memorable and incredible day that we will never forget.
Its hard not to talk about the food when writing a blog about Italy, the food in Sardinia was some of the best italian food I have ever eaten. fish and seafood is obviously in abundance being on the coast. pecorino cheese (one of my many favourites) is mostly produced in sardinia, my taste buds are singing just thinking about them and then of course pasta pasta pasta. each region has a speciality and they are all delicious. My favourite was a sardinian style gnocchi flavoured with saffron and served with a tomato sauce! yum!!!!
