Modest fashion is for anyone who chooses to show less. It's an inclusive trend seen from the street to the runway and it's not going anywhere. It is a style that resonates with a lot of people, regardless of religious or cultural background.

Modest dressing has unintentionally become a modern day fashion trend in its own right. designer labels like: Gucci, Balenciaga and Chloe also seem to be attracted to the modest look. Along with major retailers like Zara, Uniqlo and H&M exploring this trend making clothes covering most parts of the body while experimenting with the latest fashion trends. What makes clothing modest is subtle the main differences are higher necklines and longer sleeves/hems.

The #metoo movement now ingrained in our culture also has an impact with more women dressing for themselves then for others. New designers are pushing boundaries by introducing colour and patterns to traditional garments in contrast to standard black.

In swimwear Halima Aden took the cover of sports illustrated as the first model to wear a burkini and hijab in the magazine. The swimwear market is still relatively untapped.

Modest fashion is here to stay and embrace it!
